About me
A & A Driving School/Drivers Rehabilitation Center of Michigan, with 50+ years of experience offers a complete clinical assessment of a person’s visual, perceptual, cognitive, physical, and behavioral abilities as it relates to safe and independent driving due to aging, an illness, low vision (Bioptic telescopic drivers), or an injury. The assessment is conducted by a licensed Occupational therapist, who is also a Certified Driving Instructor and Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) or Driver Rehabilitation Professional (DRP) who has been certified by the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED). Following the clinical evaluation, a behind-the-wheel evaluation is conducted in one of our specially equipped vehicles, to determine fitness to drive, assessing actual skill performance operating a motor vehicle, while making safe and independent driving decisions. Equipment needs are determined, with training offered if necessary, with or without adaptive equipment. Those persons with a disability wanting to learn to drive for the first time may complete a pre-driving assessment, and be assessed and trained. Our evaluators are friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. Our Motto: We Advise & You Achieve. We believe in “Promoting Motor Safety and Mobility.
