About me
Theresa Hallenen is a Senior Level II Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist within the Duke University Health System Department of Rehabilitation Services. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Towson University and completed her terminal doctorate in Health Sciences at Drexel University in 2023. Her doctoral dissertation focused on rehabilitation following traumatic brachial plexus injury and nerve transfer surgery. Theresa’s clinical practice centers on complex traumatic orthopedic and neurologic conditions affecting the upper extremity. She currently serves as the Lead Rehabilitation Specialist for the Duke Nerve Center. In addition to her clinical work, she is an adjunct instructor in the Duke Occupational Therapy Doctorate program and a founding co-coordinator of the Duke Hand Therapy Fellowship.
